Who We Support -
Project SOS - Support Our Soldiers, Inc. was officially announced on August 1, 2009.

The purpose of Project SOS is to reclaim and recycle excess healthcare, medical, and surgical equipment and supplies. These items are then provided to our US military for use in establishing hospitals and clinics in remote areas of Iraq and Afghanistan.

The US Military is not only this nation's finest fighting force, but it also serves a vital purpose in carrying out many humanitarian missions within countries devastated by war and conflict. Our military places special emphasis on helping the children of these nations, they are the true innocents of war.

These photos are from LTC Steven Spencer, a medical doctor with the 101st Airborne, US Army.  They show Afghan children he treated who had been attacked and beaten by the Taliban forces.

What is Project SOS?
Our first shipment of medical supplies was sent to a US Army Ranger Medical Unit in Iraq in June 2010. As a result, two emergency clinics and over 23 humanitarian missions were carried out in northern Iraq by the American armed forces. Hundreds of people are alive today because of the courage and compassion of our military.
Here are some photos of the US Army Rangers who helped carry out these critical missions.
Mission Afghanistan - Rebuilding Hospitals and Feeding the Children
In November 2010, Project SOS received an urgent letter from LTC Steven Spencer who is a pediatrician serving with the US Army 101st Airborne in a very remote part of Afghanistan.

He told of how the Taliban had punished the villagers for supporting the Americans, and how they destroyed their hospital, killed all their livestock, and burned the children’s and infants’ food supplies.

He had urgently requested fortified infant formula be sent as children were dying of malnutrition and starvation.

Project SOS heard his plea and we began working to meet this need and help save the Afghan children.
Within 90 days the generous donations from local Rotary Clubs, hospitals, medical supply companies, pharmacies, churches, and people just like you, made it possible for us to give our US military what they needed to save lives and feed the children.
On February 5, 2011, six tons of medical supplies and two tons of infant formula were shipped from MacDill AFB and on their way to LTC Spencer in Afghanistan.

Project SOS Needs Your Support!
Project SOS makes a difference.
The shipment was delayed for a few weeks while a new medical unit was delpoyed
to relieve the 101st Airborne.

As soon as the supplies arrived, the medics began to deliver it to the Afgan population and their children.
